I'm looking for kink memes and/or prompt comms or blogs for:

  • Hannibal
  • Marvel
  • Angel/Buffy'verse
  • The Blacklist
  • Criminal Minds
  • Dexter
  • NCIS
  • The Sentinel
  • Star Trek
  • Wentworth
  • X-Files

I've found some really great ones for SPN, but I've never really been able to find active ones for all the fandoms I've listed above. Even when I find one that's been abandoned, it has such a small amount of content it doesn't really help me.

The SPNKinkMeme is how I got started writing in SPN, and because of my now year-long case of writer's block, I'm hoping kink memes/prompts will get me going again.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Feel free to rec your own blog or comm too!

2. First ever fandom/fic/pairing?

Years ago I was curious about the world of Stargate, so I went online to see if there were others who liked it and stumbled upon fanfiction at an SG1 forum. There was this guy who wrote amazing SG1 fanfic (I can't remember his name and he wrote long, plotty, gen fics), but because of a thread there where people were bashing slash fic (which this guy didn't write, but didn't bash and ended up defending), I became curious about what slash fic was. I hadn't read a ton of gen fic yet, but enough to realize I loved fanfic.

Anyway, searching for slash fic opened up a whole world to me because what I'd been doing with characters in my head for years, other people were doing the same and posting it! I read A LOT of SG1 slash fic and as much femmeslash as I could get my hands on. My favorite pairing was Jack/Daniel, but I really liked Janet paired with OFCs or Sam. I'm not a huge Sam fan, but it was worth it when she was paired with Janet. There were a few Daniel/Janet fics I really liked too.

From there I started branching out to see if other shows were involved in this wonderful world of fanfic. I believe my next fandom was either X-Files or Star Trek, but I focused a little more on X-Files, both of which I still read.

April 1, 2015: Day One
1. What are your all-time favorite fandoms?

There are a lot of shows I’ve liked watching over the years, but when it comes to fandoms that I’m active in, that includes Angel the Series/Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dark Angel, Sentinel, Sherlock, Star Trek, Star Wars, Stargate Atlantis, Supernatural, and X-Files.

Supernatural is the bulk of what I read and write these days, but I also read quite a bit of AtS/BtVS, Stargate Atlantis, and X-Files. Tomorrow I’ll be writing about how I got into fandom and fanfiction, but suffice to say I also read quite a bit of Stargate SG1 at first.

I really like fusions and crossovers, my favorites being Sentinel, Philip Pullman’s His Dark Materials, and Highlander, though I don’t read a lot of those original ‘verses.

Star Trek

Family dinners have usually been eaten while we watch TV together. I remember Star Trek TOS being a part of that when I was very little. My mom saved me the newspaper announcing Star Trek TNG, leaving it out for me to find when I came home from school knowing I'd be excited.

The movies were always something the whole family enjoyed and we geeked together over them. When Star Trek XI came out, we all got excited and all of us really liked it.

I find it odd that it has taken me until July 2010 to read fanfic for Star Trek of any sort and it's all Keira's fault that I read it in the first place.

I have been devouring her SGA fics for quite awhile and especially liked The Ties That Bind. Keira's inspiration was Xanthe's General & Dr. Sheppard 'Verse. I have been a huge fan of Xanthe for years.

Keira recently updated Tangled Destinies at the end of July and I decided to check it out because I have really liked everything she has written, including The Awakening which is a Sentinel fic.

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed reading Tangled Destinies, even more than Keira's writing could account for and so I started to search LJ for more.

I found [livejournal.com profile] kyliselle's Master Fic List. She doesn't have a ton, but I liked it. Also right now I'm reading So Wise We Grow by [livejournal.com profile] captanddeastar and it is very cute so far.

I am just starting to explore this fandom, but I'm already enjoying it a lot. I get a kick out of telepathy fics and always loved the claiming aspect of AtS/BtVS fics, so I really should have checked out Star Trek fic a long time ago, especially considering the size of this fandom, but I'm excited to dive into it all.
