Day 1: 100 Days Challenge

April 1, 2015: Day One
1. What are your all-time favorite fandoms?

There are a lot of shows I’ve liked watching over the years, but when it comes to fandoms that I’m active in, that includes Angel the Series/Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dark Angel, Sentinel, Sherlock, Star Trek, Star Wars, Stargate Atlantis, Supernatural, and X-Files.

Supernatural is the bulk of what I read and write these days, but I also read quite a bit of AtS/BtVS, Stargate Atlantis, and X-Files. Tomorrow I’ll be writing about how I got into fandom and fanfiction, but suffice to say I also read quite a bit of Stargate SG1 at first.

I really like fusions and crossovers, my favorites being Sentinel, Philip Pullman’s His Dark Materials, and Highlander, though I don’t read a lot of those original ‘verses.

Hey we have more fandoms then Supernatural in commom -- I used to be in BTVS/Angel too -- wrote my first fanfic for Buffy. And X-files was one of the first fandoms I read in, I still dabble a bit in Dark Angel too, though not regularly. if the prompt meme thingy takes off at the Dark Angel comm, maybe I'll get inspired again, if there's some good prompts.

Cool! It's always interesting to learn of people who have been around other fandoms. There are some people I've followed in multiple fandoms, but a large number of writers/readers have different names in different fandoms or I just don't remember their name.

There was a writer in the X-Files fandom that I really liked, followed, saved all of her work. Then I was reading an SPN fic not long ago by this author I was following in the SPN fandom and it was just... familiar. Not the fic itself, but the tone and style, and it turned out to be that same author. I hadn't connected it before then even though her name was Raven in both places, so I messaged her and gushed over her writing :D

I'd like to write some more Dark Angel fic, and I didn't realize there was a prompt meme! Where is it?

The prompt meme was here at jam_pony_fic I think denyce said it'll be a mothly thing there. The reversebang posted recently too, and had at least one crossover with spn.

I've seen a few people over multiple fandoms, most of my old x-files friends are gone, but there's been a bt of a comeback on dreamwidth with the fandom doing rewatches and such. There's some buffy people around, and a few came into spn, but a lot drifted into merlin/sherlock and thoser aren't my fandoms.

Cool! I'm a member of jam_pony_fic, but I totally missed the meme. I'll have to keep an eye on that. Thanks for letting me know!

I didn't realize X-Files was making a comeback on Dreamwidth. I have an account there that I use as a backup for LJ, but I don't hang out on DW. I'm hoping with the new episodes of X-Files there will be more fic!
