It’s been my plan for YEARS to go to Montana, Canada, New Zealand, or Australia once my mom dies.

My mom and dad were never interested in moving, so I figured I’d take care of my mom until she passes, then head off to do what I wanna do. Because fuck my dad I don’t care if he’s still alive he can go fuck himself once mom dies.

I mentioned this to my mom a couple years ago and she was thrilled! I’ve never been that into vacations or traveling but in the last couple years I’ve started to get a strong urge to not be HERE and see the world.

My parents traveled A LOT over the years, and she’s been giving me little bits of advice 😍

But then after Covid-19 came around, our lives changed so drastically that when I mentioned my future plans once again casually, they were like... HEY WE WANNA DO THIS TOO!!

It was a huge surprise to me. So for like 8 months now we’ve been talking seriously about it and even making plans. We got rid of my dad’s van and have figured out exactly the vehicle we want to buy after selling my truck so that we can drive through Canada or Montana’s terrain.

We’ve been looking at houses too. I’ve got about 150 🏘️ bookmarked, and after all this looking, I know exactly what all 3 of us want.

But then a few weeks ago we had an unusual bout of weather here. For two whole weeks we had heavy clouds, almost constant 100% humidity and rain, it was unusually cold (we get a frost every 4-7 years here and we got it this year), and the barometric pressure was wonky.

My parents were already achy from the weather front that came in, but about a week into it, my parents began looking physically sick. Their skin turned gray and my mom was having trouble breathing, was coughing, and both of them were so achy they could barely move around the house and they actually got depressed and started sleeping a lot.

In AZ the humidity is normally below 30% even during the winter and most of the time is below 10% just for reference. It’s a dry heat 🔥🔥🔥

So it was a big wake-up for all three of us.

Taking them to live in Canada or Montana will probably kill them 😨

It was a let-down, but that’s okay, I can just go back to my original plans of waiting until mom dies to do my thing.

But then both of them were like SUPER UPSET that they were somehow ruining our plans and keeping me from doing what I’d like to do.

So we came up with a workaround.

Once we have vaccines or whatever is gonna go on with the whole Covid-19 thing, we’re going to get the vehicle we already researched, then we’re going to get a fifth wheel.

We’ll travel the 4 of us (me, my parents, and Roo 🐕) in the summertime when my parents can survive going to more humid places, and in the wintertime I can stay places I wanna stay at. My mom is all thrilled because she knows there are internet friends I’d like to visit, and she’s all for that :D

I can work wherever I can have access to an internet connection, and after selling the business and cutting financial ties with my uncle, I should have a little bit of money. I can either buy a small piece of property or a very small place somewhere.

It doesn’t have to be anything more than a studio with a bathroom. I’d like electricity and sewage, but other than that I don’t care. And in rural Montana and Canada, I could afford it.

So now all of us are excited and we’re making plans again 😃

But the one doing the most damage right now is Meagan. That’s Marissa’s daughter, Charlie’s step-daughter.

She’s an alcoholic.

Marissa just watched her little sister drink herself to death a few months ago, and now she’s watching her 20-something-year-old daughter do the same thing.

Meagan moved out of Charlie/Marissa’s house again a few months back, got an apartment, and got her own insurance car.

In 8 the weeks she was “on her own” this time, she managed to get the police called on her 3 times over fights with the downstairs neighbor (who just wants to live peacefully without a drunk asshole physically and verbally assaulting her, screaming and banging on doors in the middle of the night, and passing out on the front lawn), almost lose her job 5 times, and get put on a 72-hour hold 3 times.

That’s before Thursday.
