I recently got a new distributorship for from a medical supply manufacturer.

I don’t know what their prices were pre-pan/demic, but

HOLY SHIT MEDICAL SUPPLIES ARE SO FUCKIN GCHEAP OH MY GOD WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS COUNTRY I’M LOSING MYFIUCKING SHIT!!!

*tries to calm down*

I always wondered how I was able to order some of the medical supplies we sell so cheaply when the companies I ordered from weren’t manufacturers themselves. Now I know. It’s because they were already charging SO MUCH MORE than they were paying and it was still super cheap on my end.

Like seriously I hated medical shit in this country already but this just

Okay I gotta calm down.

Insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies, and medical resale companies need to burn to the ground.

I don’t even order in super huge bulk amounts and yet ammonia inhalants (smelling salts -- tattoo artists and piercers use them when we have customers pass out during a procedure) are $3 my cost when buying from the manufacturer.

The same amount of caps from the wholesale supplier I used to buy from was $30 and that’s not even close to what the retail value is.

Oh and I can buy my parents super nice sturdy shiny fancy brand new medical-grade canes for $13 each.

Yes you read that right. Something that will cost the average consumer hundreds of dollars when they walk into a medical supply store to buy and a hospital will charge even more for will cost me only $13 (I’d still have to pay tax of course).

Don’t even get me started on the wheelchairs, hospital beds, and other assistive devices.

I just submitted a small-ish order to the company and the estimate in my head (because it took forever to get a price sheet from them) was $9,000 to $10,000.

My total is $2900 with shipping included.

Oh and I’ve never had more difficulty setting up with, getting info out of, and communicating with a company before setting up with this medical manufacturer. It took months and was super frustrating. But I’m persistent and patient.

Even though I wanna sell my shop and never go into retail again, there’s a part of me that wants to open a medical supply store to the public and charge NORMAL retail markups, which is 40% over cost (40% over cost covers your overhead/bills and also gives you enough money to live on if you run a retail store).

Selling at 40% over cost I’d have to beat customers off with a stick at night just to close the place!

I had this same reaction when I found out how much jewelry actually costs too. That was a completely separate rant.

Yeah I’m griping about my dad again 😛

My normal work day is getting up at 6am with Roo, taking her outside, then I come in and start work. I work until 10:30am when we wake my mom up, and I make us breakfast, and we talk for a while as we eat. I go back to work until 5pm, which is when I start making dinner.

I had to go to Walgreens yesterday afternoon, and our Walgreens is stupid so I sat in line for 30 minutes and had to deal with the terribly undertrained understaffed employees. I’m always nice, but it’s a stress.

I stopped working at 4:30 yesterday because I knew I wanted to make that Thanksgiving Turkeyloaf thing again, and that takes 1 hour and 15 minutes to bake and the prep time is about 30-45 minutes.

I was so tired by the time I was done cooking that all I could think about was flopping down in my chair, eating the awesome Turkeyloaf, and staring at the TV.

My parents had requested mashed potatoes, and I made those from scratch as well. My dad requested gravy too, but I must’ve forgotten.

I called my dad out for dinner, he comes out, and instead of saying “hey thanks for dinner” or even “ooh that looks good” he just grumbles “where’s the gravy?!”

I ignored him.

We have enough of the Thanksgiving Turkeyloaf to eat it through Sunday 🤗

Super Mario Odyssey for Nintendo Switch is SO GOOD!!

It's about as open world as you can get with a Mario game, and each world is different and unique.

There's more moves and interesting things in it than I've ever seen in a Mario game too. The camera is 360 plus up and down tilting, making it easy to see whatever you need to see.

The graphics are beautiful, and I love the feature that allows you to become a lot of different things. Toss your hat at something and either it flies off leaving coins behind, busts into a bunch of pieces and gives coins, you kill it, or you actually become the thing!

Which means...

🦖 YOU GET TO BE A DINOSAUR!! 🦖

The outfit changes add to the uniqueness of the surroundings, and the stark contrast between worlds kinda throws you for a minute in a good way.

My only complaint is I'm about to beat it today after only 1-1/2 weeks of casual play. I wish it was longer and harder, but I usually get through games quickly, so I can't call it a big complaint.

My dream game would be about 50 times longer and have various difficulty levels, but I really can't fault this game for that.

And did I mention 🦖 YOU GET TO BE A DINOSAUR!! 🦖

I'm going to do a second play-through to catch whatever I missed the first time around and also to sit back and enjoy the graphics more.

This game plays as something that I wouldn't mind going back to frequently. And that's unusual for me. Usually once I've beaten something, I'm done unless there are mods.

If I had to choose between Super Mario Odyssey and Super Mario 3D World/Bowser's Fury I would pick Odyssey hands down!

Not that Mario 3D is bad, but the entire atmosphere of Odyssey is so unusual and it's this wonderful mashup of an open world RPG and a Mario game!
