Evernote Alternative?

What do you use for fic archiving / bookmarking / saving? - Not for writing yourself but for fic other people write.

I've used Evernote since Delicious failed years ago but I'm always on the lookout for something that takes less system resources or works better.

I run Portable Firefox and Evernote from a flash drive for convenience and backup purposes, and Evernote is resource heavy on that poor little stick.

But it also doesn’t seem to be all that much faster on desktop so I dunno.

I use pinboard and a script to send my bookmarks to Dreamwidth. I think take a compilation of my recs and post them to DW. I like pinboard because for those that don't want to wait for me to post my bookmarks, they can subscribe to the pinboard rss feed instead. I also like pinboard because it's very similar to Delicious in that there is tagging!

I also save all the stories I read to a portable usb stick which I sync to my dropbox about once a month so it's backed up.

I also use Calibre to download fan fiction to read on my Pocketbook HD 2 ebook reader, which is also stored on Dropbox.

Oh I didn't even know about the RSS feed for Pinboard! Very cool! And I have a Dropbox account but don't use it -- I have no idea why. It would be perfect for this!

I use Calibre but only to convert fic to epub - I've never looked into the other things it does.

There is so much you can do with Calibre and fan fiction metadata.

Originally I created the tutorial to share how to add fandom covers to fan fiction as the stories are downloaded with FFF, and then the tutorial snowballed into custom columns to manage metadata plus some other stuff.
