me: buys a new mattress bc my current one was a hand-me-down that’s 27 years old but it’s so soft and really well taken care of so like did i really need a new one? did i have to spend that money? should i send it back?!

also me: sleeps ONE more night on old mattress bc i forgot to switch them out earlier in the day and was too tired to do the thing

me yet again: wakes up with a horrible kink in my neck and shoulder that makes it difficult to turn my head to the right and use my left arm bc the old mattress has a HUUUGE dip diagonally and sometimes i roll into it and mess up my neck and of COURSE it would happen when the brand new awesome mattress is sitting 20 feet away from my old bed
