more family antics part 2

Okay so some backstory on this is that my psych doc is actually the psych doc/medical care provider for MY ENTIRE FAMILY.
And for some reason she really likes us and me in particular and wants to be BFFs and even though she realizes I’m not the type to do the good friend thing, she still enjoys texting and calling. She talks openly about the rest of my family, but my family knows and doesn’t care. Have I mentioned my family is weird?
The PDoc has mental issues herself, which all of us think makes her a better PDoc.
So PDoc called me Saturday, the day after Dominic’s wedding, and begged me to not tell anybody (my mom and I are a magnet for people letting loose everything they won’t tell anybody else for various reasons) but she wanted to tell me some stuff.
She was really upset about Meagan. Meagan mostly goes to her for her depo shots, but she also knows more about Meagan because my family tells EVERYTHING.
Well Meagan let loose on her.
And has been texting and calling dozens of times an hour and harassing her because she wants PDoc to write an excuse to get her out of the lease she’s stuck in.
PDoc knows if she writes it, she’ll get into another apartment and start the same shit all over again, so she’s reluctant to write it and was asking for my advice.
Meagan has had the police called on her more times than we knew about. She also got a demotion at work after calling her manager in a drunken rage and screaming at her. Meagan claims the demotion was actually something she asked for because they were making her do too much, but we all know better.
Meagan has also gotten so drunk on a couple occasions that she locked herself out of her own apartment and ran around screaming and banging on her front door and windows until the neighbors called the police. She used to do that at Charlie and Marissa’s house after locking herself in her own room, but apparently now she continues to do it.
PDoc unloaded on me about tons of stuff Meagan has been doing and that a couple weeks back Meagan got carted off by the police to a local mental hospital where they kept her on a 24 or 48-hour hold (can’t remember which).
AND PDoc told me that she suspects the demotion at work was something they had to do instead of firing her because Meagan used the whole “I HAVE MENTAL ISSUES YOU CAN’T FIRE ME.” Which is believable.
But damn I feel bad for the people she works with.
Then Charlie tells me that Meagan has been calling Kaylin (the family friend who has been living with Charlie and Marissa for the last year) in the middle of the night and drunk screaming/ranting at her.
Kaylin is the type who just takes things and won’t stand up for herself. If I had known this was happening I would’ve helped her and boosted her confidence enough to stand up to her sooner.
I’ve been able to do it with other things. But apparently Meagan has done it so badly that KAYLIN had enough and told her she could still call to talk about stuff but that she wasn’t to call and drunkenly rant anymore. I was proud of her :)
Charlie also told me today that last night Meagan and Marissa went to an AA meeting for the first time.
The funny part about that is Marissa also has a bit of an alcohol problem that she keeps under sorta-kinda control by using gummy juice every night, but she could be called an alcoholic too.
So the fact that Marissa is going for her daughter but also getting second-hand help is totally awesome!
Good news is they’re getting help, Meagan is open to said help, Kaylin stood up for herself, PDoc feels MUCH better, and I’m so glad I don’t live with any of these people :D
