Good for Benny! He just took a step up in my opinion despite his use of the term "sweetheart." Maybe that's just my knee-jerk personal reaction to the term rankling me. Although, I've noticed that despite the fact that other alphas bottom, no one seems to use terms like "sweetheart" and "kid" with anyone but Dean, I think.
I really liked this talk with Benny because I was really getting this feeling that they were in fact trying to turn Dean into someone he isn't. While I get the idea that he's just enforcing Dean's rank, I can't help but think that if someone gets stuck in that rank, there's no way to deal with it but become someone else. You know? They become conditioned to be utterly submissive. They have no control over their body or actions.
I get the feeling here that Benny really doesn't want Dean to accept the rank of hole. I'm interested to see how it will all play out. Great world building!
