3 years ago I changed my phone number because my dad needed a new phone and didn’t want to give up his number in order to get a free iPhone

I really shouldn’t have done it because I’m STILL getting phone calls for the guy who had the number before me.

He must’ve known A LOT of people because it’s almost daily that I get something, and today I’ve gotten 2 calls for him and 3 poli/tical texts.

Usually I just say “(first name/last name) hasn’t had this number for 3 years” and hang up.

But I’m getting grumpier in general lately and am considering just saying random things like “he’s dead” or “he ran off into the mountains and lives in a cave now” or something

One woman got huffy with me and said “give me his new number then” and I tried three times to explain it but she did NOT understand how I could possibly have his current number without knowing what his new number was like lady this isn’t a difficult concept I don’t know this man I just have his old phone number

The dude was very into politics and I’m REALLY tired of getting poli/tical texts, voicemail, and calls 😡

Ignoring any number I don’t recognize isn’t an option because everything tied to the shop is under this number.
