SPN/BtVS Crossover
Jan. 27th, 2014 06:26 pmI've been working on an SPN/BtVS crossover off and on for years. In fact I think I started it around 2007 or 2008. I've not put a lot of time into it, just adding bits every once in a while.
It's more of a self-indulgent thing. Dean is slightly OOC, but actually it can easily be considered in-character because it's set just a short time preseries and Dean is taken completely out of his element.
I've had different story lines in my head over the years, other plot points to introduce, cases they can be involved in, and situations I've wanted to put the characters in.
I want to bring in Sam, so I'm coming up with reasons why he leaves Stanford and gets his ass over to LA, but I haven't made it that far yet. I also think bringing in Castiel would be really fun, but I haven't even begun coming up with story lines for him.
At first this fic was an excuse to pair up Dean and Spike, taking Dean out of his version of normal and throwing him in with Angel's group in LA. I wanted a fish-out-of-water experience for him. I also wanted a situation where I could use domestic discipline.
It's become more than all that, and with everything that I want to add, it's become something that would be epically long. It's not epically long at the moment compared to a couple other fics I've been working on for years, but it's got potential to explode.
I'm thinking about putting it up on AO3 as a place to just add to it when I feel like it. I hate putting up WIPs, but the way I've written it so far, it's more like episodes, so I think I'd be okay with that.
I don't have a name for it yet. I suck at coming up with titles for fics, and I usually just end up using short things that pop into my head sometime while I'm writing a fic. This one I haven't had a clue so far. I'm close to using a name generator from the net. It's a cop-out, but if I post it on AO3, I'll need a name.
I dunno. I'll see how I feel about it over the next few days to weeks. I'll post a link here if that's what I decide on.
