My mom said she didn't see squiggly stuff, but she really didn't have much vision in that eye during the first injection, and she hasn't had the second one yet. Now that she can see a little better, she's wondering if maybe she'll see the stuff next time.
They didn't wash her eye out, but they did hold this medicated cleanser stick on her eyeball for like 5 minutes and it was really weird. They did some anesthetic after that and then did the injections.
I don't know if the anesthetic stayed long enough for her to miss out on the intense pain you experienced -- she only had a mild ache for a few days and A LOT of pressure and drainage and swelling.
