mayalaenweird thing #58328 my dad says even though english is the only language he’s ever known and he’s in his late 70s: the kuh-KAH-dahs!
me: ... huh?!
dad: it’s the kuh-KAH-dahs!
me: *wondering wtf this is going to end up being*
dad: they only come out every 17 years and this is the year!
me: *oh he means cicadas and even though his tough-as-nails wife who is scared of almost nothing is terrified of cicadas flying into her hair and he has probably heard the word cicadas MILLIONS of times in his life he still says kuh-KAH-dahs*
why is he like this?
me: ... huh?!
