It’s been my plan for as long as I can remember that as soon as my parents die (or my mom dies if she goes first), I’m going to move away from this area because damn I hate it.

My mom has known for quite a long time that it’s my plan, but when the pandemic hit and life significantly changed for us, I mentioned the possibility of moving the 3 of us.

To my complete surprise, both my parents were open to it.

My plan was for Montana if I was going to stay in the US and Canada, New Zealand, or possibly Australia if I decided not to stay in the US.

So for the last 6 months we’ve been planning and talking.

Our plan is that this coming summer the three of us are driving up to Montana to see what areas we like. Next winter I’ll go up alone to make sure it’s still an area we want to be in. Possibly that winter we’ll get the house ready to sell and buy a place up in Montana.

I don’t know if it’ll actually happen, and if it does, they’ll have to REALLY take a back seat because I’m not putting up with the sheer amount of bullshit they created when buying the house we’re currently in.

In the last few weeks they’ve mentioned being more and more open to Canada even though they moved away from Buffalo, New York after the blizzard of ‘77 and never wanted to live in high snow areas again.

And yesterday my dad said, “MOOSE JAW!! Let’s check out Moose Jaw.”

I thought he was joking, but apparently he wasn’t.

So we’re also checking out Moose Jaw in Canada.

There are a lot of reasons I want to get out of the state we’re in, but the number one reason is health. Mental and physical.

I’ll have to hit up a few friends on here to ask about what parts of Canada would suit us the best so I can give my parents info on it too.
