chlorine? yes please!

My skin is so weird. It LIKES chlorine.

Not like it just doesn’t get irritated by it. No it actually is healthier during the summer when I’m exposed to chlorine a lot, and the higher the concentration in the pool, the happier my skin is. My eyes don’t get bothered by it either.

It’s wintertime now and my hands are to the point where they’re open and bleeding at the knuckles they’re so dry even though I’m using in-shower oil every time I wash my hands (after the soap) and it actually seemed to be making them worse?!

I got desperate and put my hands in the freezing pool this morning until the cold hurt and already my skin feels better.

My mom’s skin is the same way even with the cancer. Her skin doc warned her about cutaneous T-cell lymphoma being sensitive to harsh chemicals, but said some people do better in chlorine, so try it.

It makes her cutaneous T-cell lymphoma better o_O

My dad OTOH can’t stay in for more than about 10 minutes a day or he starts getting skin breakdown, rashes, and horribly dry spots that don’t respond to medical creams.

I know, right? Like, we're 80% water wrapped up in SKIN that doesn't protect shit and we get cold and we're vulnerable and our babies are born with a fucking hole in their heads and they're totally helpless for the first year or two or ten. Nothing makes sense. HUMANS.
