Everyone in my industry hates Facebook but we’re all stuck using it.

Tattoo artists hate it, shop owners hate it, business people in this industry hate it, event coordinators in the industry hate it, but the people who get tattoos LOVE Facebook, and 70%-90% of a tattoo artist’s business will come from it.

That means tattoo artists have to be on it a lot, which makes it the easiest place for me to interact with tattoo artists when they’re not in my shop – finding products I should carry, advertising my stuff, commenting on artists’ posts, and making my own posts so artists interact with me more.

But the only people who like Facebook are so far removed from me they’re not the ones buying from me while the rest of us all just hate it and whine about it to each other.

comments

I freaked my parents out with how creepy Facebook is.

All of us know our phones are listening, but yesterday morning I used the example of Crohn’s disease to explain my argument while we were having a discussion between the 3 of us.

I went into some detail about it and how hard it would be in the situation we were talking about and how expensive the medications would be.

After we finished that part of the discussion, I opened Facebook on my phone to check if a friend had written me back and

NEVER BEFORE have I had even one advert for a Crohn’s disease med, and yet y’all know exactly what ALL the adverts were for, right?

My dad almost fell off his chair 🤣

comments
